If you don't have a rice cooker and don't want to stand at the stove boiling your rice, we use a medium size mixing bowl put in about 10 oz of rice then 20 oz of water you can also ad some butter. Put it in the microwave for 26 minutes. Perfect rice everytime. No muss no fuss.

Hi Mary,
Thanks for sharing the rice advice! I am always looking for easier ways to cook! Just out of curiousity... are you using basamatti rice or another kind?
Thanks!

Hi Mel,
Yes, it usually is basmati or any of the long grain rice.
Also I always use a plastic bowl, I have not tried it in a glass bowl.
Good Luck.

Do you cover the bowl when nuking it or is the bowl uncovered? I will be glad to have an easier way to make rice. With basmati I have found that the water to rice ratio is usually about 1.5:1 instead of the 2:1 ratio it usually is with regular rice. Maybe you are nuking it with no cover, so the extra .5 part would be evaporating during cooking?

Yes you are right, I do not cover the bowl.
Let me know how it turns out. :)
