Hi! Hopefully someone may have some input here.
My BF's Mother is from Punjab and his father is originally from Tanzania. He mentions spekaing in his mother tongue but also reads Sanskrit. What would be his mother tongue if he comes from Tanzania?

hi haraa.
his mother langauge is punjabi and father KiSwahili which is from tanzania.
he knows sanskrit .which is ancient langauge of indian.
but his mother tongue would be KiSwahili beacus his father is from there.
better to ask him because soemtime somepeople consider maternal langauge as motehr tongue and soemtimes paternal langauge.

KiSwahili is african langauge.

Thank you, I will do more research on this :)
Another question: Is it likely that they converse mostly in Hindi?
